The first night - Wednesday February 5th, 2003
|
Opening Night kicked off at Tawa Intermediate School with more than 100 kids (and a whole bunch of leaders/helpers) taking part. After a couple of indoor warm-up games and a short "opening ceremony", the kids split into 4 groups for an hour's worth of activities, proceeding from one to the next: bullrush, sack racing, indoor hockey, and the official waterbucket game. A local Christian college-age rock band then performed a few numbers, followed by our special guest, Harry the Clown, weaving his magic. It was a fun time, with Kids Games programmes set to continue on Friday evenings for the whole of this term. |
