There are major earthworks currently under way at Takapu Island, the large block of land south of Tawa between the motorway and the railway line. Heading down the Tawa exit/off-ramp from the motorway (north), one cannot help but notice the drastic changes to the landscape that have taken place over the past 2-3 months.
